IPG Photonics to Acquire Lumibird Medical for €300 Million

IPG Photonics Corporation has announced a binding offer to acquire Lumibird Medical for €300 million, a move intended to bolster its position in the medical laser market. The acquisition is expected to enhance IPG's Advanced Solutions portfolio, particularly in the fields of ophthalmology and urology.
This transaction is anticipated to be financially beneficial, contributing positively to IPG's gross margin, EBITDA, and adjusted earnings per share. By integrating Lumibird Medical, IPG aims to tap into an additional addressable market of approximately $1 billion, thereby expanding its long-term growth opportunities.
The deal will be executed on a cash-free, debt-free basis, with the full payment made in cash at the time of closing. An additional earnout consideration of up to €50 million may be available based on Lumibird's performance metrics for 2026 and 2027. IPG plans to finance the acquisition using available cash on hand.
