Evaxion reveals preclinical data for CMV vaccine EVX-V1

Evaxion A/S has presented new preclinical findings for its cytomegalovirus (CMV) vaccine program, EVX-V1, at the International Herpesvirus Workshop 2026 in Montreal. The data indicates the vaccine's potential to enhance control over acute infection, latency, and viral reactivation in CMV-infected models.
EVX-V1 is designed as a multi-component vaccine, using a combination of AI-discovered antigens and optimized versions of established CMV vaccine antigens. This innovative approach aims to increase the vaccine's protective efficacy by targeting the virus from multiple angles, a strategy that may also be applicable to other herpesviruses.
