Fuse Oncology to Present S!GNAL Workflow at ASTRO 2026
Fuse Oncology will showcase a new workflow integration at ASTRO 2026.
Fuse Oncology has announced it will demonstrate a new potential workflow that integrates its S!GNAL charge capture solution with GE HealthCare's Intelligent Radiation Therapy™ (iRT) software at the upcoming ASTRO 2026 Annual Meeting. This integration aims to simplify patient workflow coordination by connecting iRT with targeted charge review in S!GNAL, enhancing the efficiency of radiation oncology processes.
The planned demonstration will illustrate how patient information can be used within iRT to launch S!GNAL, thereby providing a direct pathway for users to review charges while maintaining patient context. This approach seeks to minimize manual handoffs between different systems, which is a common challenge in radiation oncology where teams often navigate multiple disconnected tools.
iRT is designed to enhance workflow management in radiation therapy, using artificial intelligence to connect various tools and reduce the complexity of patient care from diagnosis to treatment. The integration with S!GNAL represents a significant step towards addressing the problem of charge capture, which is frequently affected by errors that can go unnoticed for weeks.
S!GNAL operates by reviewing charge data daily and identifying any missed or incorrectly coded charges within 24 hours of service. This contrasts with traditional methods that often require retrospective audits long after the service has occurred. By employing natural language processing and evaluating treatment planning charges against discrete data, S!GNAL aims to improve accuracy and timeliness in charge capture.
In a recent deployment across 15 sites within an 18-site radiation oncology network, S!GNAL identified over $1 million in missed charges, demonstrating its potential effectiveness in real-world applications. This capability is particularly important in a field where timely billing is critical for operational efficiency.
The upcoming show at ASTRO 2026, scheduled for September 27 to 29 in Boston, will take place at booth 2533. Fuse Oncology is currently developing this workflow integration for potential future commercial availability, with additional details to be announced.
