Enigmata Secures $6.5M to Enhance AI with Encrypted Data

NASHVILLE, Tenn., Enigmata, Inc. has raised $6.5 million in seed funding to launch its innovative technology, Enigmata Cipher, which allows artificial intelligence to operate directly on encrypted data. This development addresses a critical challenge in AI workflows where sensitive information is at risk of exposure.

The funding round was led by Blockchange Ventures and positions Enigmata Cipher as a solution for industries that handle proprietary datasets, including healthcare, finance, and data analytics. The technology enables AI to train, search, and analyze data while it remains encrypted, thereby maintaining the confidentiality of sensitive records.

Enigmata Cipher is designed to meet the demands of modern AI applications, where data privacy is paramount. The technology transforms various data types into an encrypted format that can be used by AI and analytics tools without compromising security. According to internal benchmarks, models trained on data protected by Cipher achieved comparable accuracy to those trained on unencrypted data, while also completing the training process 8% to 10% faster.

Additionally, Cipher allows for the selective removal of individual records, facilitating compliance with data-deletion requests without requiring a complete retraining of models. This capability is especially relevant for organizations that must adhere to strict data governance regulations.

Enigmata aims to expand the application of Cipher into secure data licensing infrastructure, enabling institutions to share encrypted datasets for AI training under controlled terms. This could redefine how data owners interact with AI companies, particularly amid ongoing copyright disputes regarding training data access.
